I must not be in love because I am married. But I am in love! From ironic to desperate: The Swiss author Robert Walser who became famous writing three novels in Berlin in the early years of the past century, is a master of short love stories covering the whole spectrum of the most desirable and most exhausting moments of human beings.

Seven of Walsers love stories are translated word by word by Swiss movie-author Walo Deuber into a so-called "Visual Book" of 50 minutes. The texts are narrated verbatim by Bruno Ganz and interpreted by the actors Anja Margoni and Florian Rummel in silent-movie black and white pictures.

The "Visual Book" with the German title Er, der Hut, sitzt auf ihm, dem Kopf provides a new and easy approach to some of Robert Walsers well known and some just recently discovered texts. Music by Zurich composer Daniel Fueter adds to the fun of getting these texts told in a new way as well as do the animations by Jochen Ehmann introducing all of the seven love stories.
